Failed the Smart Serve Test? Here Is What Happens Next

A failed first attempt costs you nothing extra. Each Smart Serve purchase includes two test attempts, so the second one is already paid for and waiting in your account.

The pass mark is 80% or higher with no test rule infractions, which is 27 of the 33 questions. Falling short of that is a study problem with a clear fix, and you have a second attempt to apply it.

This guide covers what to do first, what a flagged session means, and what happens if the second attempt also falls short.

Start with the list of questions you got wrong

Immediately after the test, Smart Serve shows you a list of the questions you answered incorrectly. The correct answers are not provided.

That list is the most useful thing you have. It names the topics that beat you, without handing you answers you would only memorise. Work through it before you do anything else.

Group the wrong questions by course area. Three misses in one area is a gap you can close in an evening. Misses spread evenly across all five areas mean a slower and broader reread.

Why a near miss is still a miss

There is no discretionary bump. A score of 79% does not pass, and Smart Serve is clear that a certificate needs 80% or higher.

On a 33 question test, the arithmetic is unforgiving. Getting 26 right puts you at just under 79%, and 27 right puts you over the line. One question separates the two outcomes.

That is worth knowing before your second attempt, because it changes how you study. You are not chasing a broad improvement. You are closing the specific gaps that cost you two or three questions.

If your session was flagged

A fail is not always about your answers. If the proctor flags your test session for a violation, you lose the test attempt, even if you passed the test.

Every final test is proctored, with webcam ID verification and screen monitoring. Before you launch the second attempt, get the setup right:

• Check that your web camera and microphone both work.
• Have your valid government issued photo identification ready before the test launches.
• Pick a room where nobody will interrupt you.
• Stay in camera view from the moment you start until you finish.

Take the second attempt inside your 30 days

Your course access expires 30 days after purchase, and the second attempt lives inside that window. Once the course expires, you cannot open the training or the final test.

So check how many days you have left before you plan your study. If you bought the course three weeks ago, treat this week as the deadline.

When your scores hold above 27 out of 33 on a full mock test, launch the real one.

What happens after two failed attempts

If both attempts fall short, the course does not simply reopen. You must repurchase the course and complete it again to get another two test attempts.

The repurchase sits in the Store tab of your Smart Serve account. Smart Serve asks you to allow about 30 minutes for your status to update before the option appears. The full course is $44.95, so a second purchase takes your total to $89.90.

Treat the second purchase as a fresh start rather than a third try. Work through the training properly, because a repurchase resets your 30 days and gives you two attempts, not one.

Close the gap before you pay again
